“It’s Time to Fish: Catch, Equip, Release!”, based on John 21 and Luke 5, summarizes the work of the Minnesota South District. Peter spoke words similar to our theme to his companions after Jesus had showed himself to the disciples as their risen Lord. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is both the context and the power for our life and work together in mission and ministry in the southern third of Minnesota and in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. We need to be vigorous in our efforts to gather into the Kingdom those who are perishing: “It’s Time to Fish!” The population of Minnesota is growing, and that is obvious in the metropolitan area and throughout the state. Ethnic immigrants are arriving in increasing numbers: Hispanics, African immigrants, Southeast Asians, and more and more international students at our colleges and universities. In addition large numbers of unchurched live within the boundaries of the Minnesota South District, and we must bring the Gospel also to them. It is time to reach out with the Gospel to all those who neither know nor love the risen Lord Jesus!
